Fondation Groupama GAN pour le cinéma

Groupama GAN Cinema Foundation

For over 20 years, Groupama Gan Cinema Foundation is now one of the main partners of French cinema. The Foundation has a dual mission: it works to preserve the world’s cinematographic heritage, and it promotes the production, distribution and exhibition of today’s films.

The role of the Foundation is a crucial one given the perilous state of numerous masterpieces from the past as well as the difficulties encountered in the production and distribution of today’s feature-length films. Equally important is the quality of its selection process and the different forms of support it has developed.

The Foundation is a partner in the Un Certain Regard Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the Orizzonti Prize in Venice.

The Foundation has a success record: in 2007 it was honored by the French Ministry of Culture and Communications. Since 1987 films sponsored by the Foundation received three Academy Awards.
