The Film

This is the second movie of the poet, novelist and director Yin Lichuan. Knitting is a touching film shot with a sharp sense of humor. Knitting tells the story of a trio in a Chinese megapolis. It focuses on the desire and competition of two women for one man. Knitting was presented at the 40th Directors' Fortnight in Cannes in 2008. It is distributed by the CTV International (Paris).

Synopsis

LI Daping and her boyfriend CHEN Jin live isolated in the outskirts of a Chinese megapolis in southern China. Hard living conditions created a strong bond between them. When the beautiful Zhang Haili (Yan Bingyan) materializes out of CHEN's dubious past, CHEN is pushed into a series of shady deals. Daping ends up shoved into a corner – still in love with CHEN, pregnant and silently knitting.
